Our Beginnings
In September 2013, a group of members and supporters of the Little Bayamón Symphony Orchestra, composed of students from The Youth Corner String Program, under the direction of Professor Rubén M. Mattos Escabí, members of the Bayamón Municipal Band who They played under the direction of Professor Arelys Escabí and musicians from the community met to continue the work of this musical group. The idea of the Little Symphony Orchestra of Bayamón arose at the initiative of Professor Angel M. Mattos De Jesús, former director of the then defunct Bayamón Symphony Orchestra.
After a year of rehearsals and presentations, Professor Rubén M. Mattos officially incorporated it into the Department of State of Puerto Rico, as a non-profit institution, under the name Bayamon Philharmonic Orchestra Inc.
First Executive Board
In November 2014, the Executive Board was officially established, which established and ratified the first Constitution and Regulations on February 12, 2015, for internal use of the corporation.
Mission and vision
Develop a symphonic musical workshop for talented young people, amateur and professional musicians, with the purpose of offering concerts that will raise awareness and educate communities.
To be an orchestra recognized in Puerto Rico and internationally, with a good level of performance, that serves as an example for other musical generations. Collaborate with other organizations and offer concert seasons.
